It’s been awhile since I’ve had a long weekend, and this BC day isn’t exactly the worst time for it.
With a few term projects on the horizon here, the long weekend allows me the opportunity to get to work on a couple of them and put in some serious time making sure they’re polished. Sure I’ve got a couple weeks, but it’s nice to put these things to bed now so I can focus on other things (sleep being a major one).
Also, this weekend, I had trout – it’s been even longer since I’ve eaten trout, and it was really, REALLY good. Surprisingly so, as I’ve been averse to fish for going on 15 years now. Recently, with my wife’s father being an extreme fisherman (700 lbs./trip or something absurd), I’ve been sampling fish here and there, and re-acquiring a taste for it. Last night’s dinner at a friends’ house really did floor me though, as she prepared trout, not knowing my aversion to the damned things. I figured I’d try my hand at adventure and give it a go, and it was worth it. I ate a nice sized trout steak, and it really did treat me right.
Tonight, though, it’s BBQ and level design – like they were born to be together 😉
